We've Aviation Professionals Prepare for their Interviews!
  • Pretty much what you read on here is exactly what you’re gonna get. Be humble, go in with confidence, you’re gonna be just fine. Remember, they pretty much already hired you, they just wanna make sure you are who you say you are and that you’re not gonna say something stupid… You’ll sit in the cafeteria, then most likely given a tour of part of the facility by a seasoned and knowledgeable employee. Next you’ll be given a briefing of how the interview is gonna go. Answer any questions about United that they can. Really laid back. Everyone in the facility is on your team, encouraging, and wants you to succeed. Really helps if you go in with a clean and tabbed out logbook! 45min HR, 5 minute break, then a 45 min technical with 2 interviewers in a 12x12 room....

Pretty much same interview experience as everyone else. Asked about a time I made an error and what the result was, a time I made a change at my organization, a time I mentored someone. Technical was DEN-IAD. Asked about what I'd think about while taxing out and I see virga, asked about windshear signs and escape maneuver. Had a ya damper failure, went through QRH. Asked what I'd do if we encountered turbulence - climb or descend. Asked about a STAR and how I'd do the published hold. Had to...

Arrived one hour before interview, they give you a rubber band and a post it paper to write your name and place it on your top log book(s) wrapped with the rubber band. Wait at the cafeteria with other candidates (I was the only civilian experience only), lots of other UA pilots and employees will wish you luck and make some light jokes regarding what to say to get the job. A UA first officer showed us part of the training facility, including a UA museum inside the center, were brought to a...

Travel and hotel: The trip was excellent. Crews were kind. When I told them I was going to an interview, they even wrote me a postcard wishing me luck. At the hotel, many United pilots were there for simulator or training. Be polite at all times. ? Day of the interview: â?¢ I met my group of candidates. All were very kind, with good experience. â?¢ We checked in, left our logbooks on a table. â?¢ We went to the cafeteria, where a United First Officer welcomed us. He showed us the...

The interview was EXACTLY as described. Showed up early, hung out in the cafeteria as the other candidates arrived. (6 of us total). They took our logbooks for review and gave us a brief tour. Then we went into a room where they pulled us out one by one to do our interviews. You sit in a room with one HR person and a Pilot interviewer. After introductions, they want to hear how you got to where you are now, a 3-5 minute introduction about your background, flying history, etc. Then, move on...

Process exactly as described by others on here. 5 TMAAT questions. you had an emotional reaction to something at work. You had someone put you in an uncomfortable situation. Contributed to a change in your organization. Short break then followed by the technical portion. Just study the guide/scenarios on here, spot on. Overall really straight forward experience. Show them youâ??ve put in the effort and youâ??ll be fine. If youâ??re there they want to hire...

Just like all the others. We walked in the cafeteria with our logbooks. Once a United Pilot took us to tour the museum, he told us to put our logbooks on a rolling table. We then took a tour of the museum for about 30 min then we went to a briefing room where he told how the interview process would be. I was then brought back into the interview room. A senior pilot and a guy from HR. Nice guys but have to be stone face during the interview. Proceeded to Tell me about yourself then 5 TMAAT....
